Escape from Tarkov Gets Major Update Featuring Winter Season, Wipe, and New Weapons — Trailer Released

Battlestate Games has rolled out update 0.16.0.0 for Escape from Tarkov. To mark the occasion, the developers released a melancholic trailer and detailed the key changes introduced in the patch:

A wipe has occurred, kicking off the winter season;
New festive mode, "Round Dance," where players light up a Christmas tree;
A new status effect, "Frozen," which reduces stamina and visibility;
Revamped "Customs" map;
A new "Prestige" mechanic offering unique rewards;
New weapons: the RSHG-2 grenade launcher, Sako TRG M10 .338 sniper rifle, Saiga-12K shotgun, FN SCAR-H "X-17" rifle, and more;
Continuous healing with medkits;
Hidden extraction points for raids;
A new storyline involving an APC driver;
Players can now customize their Hideouts and visit friends’ Hideouts;
Game engine upgraded to Unity 2022.3.43f1;
Improved anti-cheat measures.
