NVIDIA is gearing up to launch its GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti graphics cards in March, according to internal documents from its partner Chaintech. The release is positioned as a response to growing user frustration over limited options in the affordable GPU segment.
Both models are expected to debut with NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell architecture and the GB206 chip, paired with GDDR7 memory. This combination is projected to deliver unprecedented bandwidth for the class—up to 448 GB/s, marking a 55-65% leap over the previous-gen RTX 4060. NVIDIA’s engineers have prioritized efficiency by retaining a 128-bit memory bus, balancing power savings without compromising performance. The RTX 5060 Ti will launch in two configurations: an 8GB variant for budget-conscious gamers targeting smooth FullHD gameplay and a 16GB model optimized for 2K resolution with ray tracing enabled.
The accelerated March rollout appears to be a strategic move by NVIDIA to recover from recent reputational hits. Its flagship RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs faced criticism for inflated pricing and supply shortages, exacerbated by production halts in Asia during Lunar New Year celebrations. Chaintech’s reports suggest NVIDIA aims to avoid repeating these missteps with its mid-tier lineup by delaying the 5060 series’ release until after the RTX 5070 hits shelves—a bid to stabilize supply chains and pricing. This pivot underscores NVIDIA’s effort to regain trust in a market increasingly sensitive to value and availability, particularly as competitors ramp up pressure in the mid-range segment.
