Renowned American director Martin Scorsese is set to helm a new gangster drama described as a mix between The Departed and Goodfellas. Dwayne Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Emily Blunt are slated to take on the leading roles.
The film will follow the rise of an aspiring Hawaiian mafia boss as he battles rival gangs for control of the criminal underworld.
Set primarily in the 1960s and 1970s, the plot is based on an untold true story, according to Deadline. The screenplay is penned by Nick Bilton.
As a reminder, earlier this month, the 78th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) ceremony took place, where the best film projects of 2024 were honored.
