Just two weeks before launch, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows has received its age rating in Singapore. The game has been rated M18 due to its violent content and sexual themes.

According to the regulator’s description:

  • Combat will feature blood effects, and some weapons will allow Yasuke to dismember and decapitate enemies;
  • One of the most brutal cutscenes shows a severed human head, while others depict characters being shot and killed in various ways;
  • Players will be able to form relationships with other characters. However, intimate scenes are limited to kissing, after which the screen fades to black.
Played from a third-person perspective, players can alternate between Yasuke, and Naoe, as they progress through different missions across an open world environment. Both characters are equipped with their own unique abilities, weapons and combat playstyles. When faced with enemies, players can wield a range of weapons including katanas, kanabō war clubs, yari spears, shuriken, kunai, and scythes to eliminate them. Players can also shoot at explosives to trigger an explosion to take out nearby enemies. Each weapon has its own skill tree for player progression. The game also features a spy network system where players can gather intelligence and bribe officials.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows launches March 20 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
