In the games Kingdom Come: Deliverance and its sequel, potions play a crucial role. The art of brewing them requires precise adherence to proportions and timing, as the closer the decoction is to perfection, the more beneficial effects it grants your hero. Let's dive into the world of potions in the second part and uncover the secrets of their creation.
The game features a special system for brewing decoctions, which affects the duration of effects and enhances various character buffs by several units or percentages. If you use fresh ingredients, strictly follow all instructions, accurately measure portions, and do not violate time frames, you can make a strong decoction. There are also regular decoctions, resulting from incorrect cooking time calculations, and weak ones, associated with recipe component errors.
Moreover, if you unlock a special ability in the skill tree, you can make potions of even higher quality. However, minor errors and inaccuracies, like one unsuitable material, are not allowed as in the making of a strong decoction.
Note that you do not necessarily need to know the recipe to brew a potion. On the contrary, having the necessary herbs, you can compose the mixture according to the instructions and receive it as a reward. To keep track of time, don't forget to turn the hourglass located on the shelf next to the cauldron.
Decided to redo your character's leveling? Then use this potion. It will reset all skills and allow you to redistribute the points. It can be obtained at the end of the "Thunderstone" quest or purchased a little later for 100 groschen.
To activate its effect, you will need henbane, belladonna, and wormwood:
Reduces negative effects from your injuries, but at the same time decreases the maximum amount of health and stamina for a short period. The potion can be purchased in many places, costing 55 groschen.
The remedy is made from three pinches of poppy, comfrey, and calendula:
Increases resistance to damage and bleeding, reducing the amount of health points lost as a percentage relative to the quality of the decoction, up to a maximum of 60%. The effect itself can last from 5 to 15 minutes. The recipe itself can be purchased for 55 groschen.
For preparation, you will need two dandelions and one calendula:
Enhances agility for several minutes. Also reduces stamina consumption when running. Available for purchase for 55 units.
We'll show you how to make it using eyebright, poppy, boar tusk, and valerian:
Eloquence is key: improves communication skills and reading speed. A decoction of excellent quality also increases the amount of experience gained. Sold for 55 coins.
Prepare nettle, St. John's wort, belladonna, and charcoal if you want to brew the decoction:
Puts the poisoned character to sleep, reducing energy and stamina. Moreover, for several hours after its consumption, stamina will recover more slowly. Obtained in the "Mouse" quest line or sold north of Trosky Castle for 45 groschen.
To put an opponent to sleep, we will, of course, need poppy, crow's eye, and thistle:
Simplifies the gameplay process with frequent use of stamina: increases this indicator from 25 to 60%. Moreover, a more thorough preparation process will lead to faster recovery of stamina values. Sold for 55 groschen.
If you want to recreate it most accurately according to the recipe, take one St. John's wort, two dandelions, and comfrey:
The potion is designed to increase skill and theft abilities by several points, up to a maximum of an hour. Purchase cost is 55 coins.
To prepare, gather two eyebrights and valerian, and also grab spider web:
Helps you wash clothes from dirt. Can be found in the bathrooms of Trosky Castle or exchanged for 8.5 groschen.
We will make it from two thistles, dandelion, and charcoal:
Like other perfumes, it increases charisma but applies a negative effect in case of scent combinations. Price is 70 groschen.
If you want to use these perfumes, gather three dandelions, calendula, and mint:
Enhancing potion: increases power for 10 minutes by a few points. Additionally, higher quality allows spending less stamina on blocks. Cost is 55 coins.
This decoction is made based on alcohol, one sage, and two units of wormwood:
Increases your visibility at night and reduces energy absorption for a certain period. Can be purchased for 55 coins.
To make this remedy, we will need two eyebrights, belladonna, and chamomile:
An effective poison that forbids running and reduces any weapon upgrade by several levels. Gradually decreases health. Available for 45 groschen.
To prepare the poison, we will use one valerian and two leaves of crow's eye:
A potion with a long-term effect: for a certain period (but no more than two days), sleep will restore health and energy several times faster. It can be purchased almost everywhere in exchange for only 35 coins.
Made with two chamomiles and sage:
Speeds up the healing process or helps get rid of a hangover. Restores a certain percentage of the total health depending on the quality of the prepared dish. Can be purchased for 50 coins.
Gather nettle and calendula to get this decoction:
A potion that can be useful to everyone. Reduces overeating by 20-30 units, resists poisoning, and increases vitality. Can be obtained by reading a magazine as part of a quest in Trosky Castle or purchased for 35 groschen.
We will prepare this drink from water, nettle, two thistles, and charcoal:
If you do not use this decoction with another perfume, your charisma value will be increased by several points. Otherwise, it will decrease. The cost of the perfume is 70 coins.
You will need one sage and two mints:
A kind of energy booster: increases energy reserves by several dozen units. Additionally, it can slow down the expenditure of points of this indicator. Not often found, so the price is appropriate — 55 units.
Obtained by mixing valerian, two pinches of mint, and alcohol:
The name speaks for itself: it saves from the effects of poisons and toxins. The effect does not depend on the quality of the decoction. It can be obtained by reading special books during the quests of Trosky Castle or purchased for 40 groschen.
Made from tansy, two pinches of ginger, and elder leaves:
You can craft ammunition for your weapon similar to the mechanics of decoctions. For example, make it from small lumps of iron and stones, most effective at close range. Note that you should not create ammunition while drunk — otherwise, you will perish.
To make it, we will use refined sulfur, saltpeter, and lye charcoal:
A strong alcoholic drink that will leave you with a severe hangover. Can be bought for 1.9 groschen.
It can be made from wormwood and two mints:
This shot will penetrate even the toughest armors at close range. It can be obtained by completing the final challenge from the miller Kreisel called Opus Magnum. As before, make sure to craft ammunition only when sober.
Created using crushed sulfur, saltpeter, and charcoal:
Great for archers: the corresponding skill receives a buff to leveling. Also removes the need to lose stamina when aiming or significantly weakens these values. The cost is not much cheaper than other decoctions: 50 coins.
To prepare it, you need to gather two eyebrights and one St. John's wort:
This potion with an unusual name would actually be quite useful not only in the game: it helps to reduce the level of intoxication and fight hangovers. It can also temporarily increase resistance to alcoholism. The price is 55 groschen.
If you want to brew this potion, you will need mint, St. John's wort, and sage:
A practical drink that allows you to save the game when consumed. Additionally, if prepared well, it restores health and improves some stats. It is awarded at the end of the "Rescue" quest.
We will make this remedy using nettle and two belladonna leaves:
Connects you with nature: improves taming and riding skills. Thus, animals will pay less attention to you. If the decoction is prepared well, dogs will completely stop noticing you. The price is quite standard — 55 groschen.
It can be brewed from one belladonna, boar tusk, and two comfreys:
A harmful concoction: it removes the ability to run and takes away a significant amount of health points in a short period. It allows poisoning cauldrons and costs 50 minutes.
To create such a poison, we will need wormwood, belladonna, and fly agaric:
