The 2004 PC game Painkiller has received a significant upgrade thanks to modder capzor. He has created a fan-made remaster of the game, utilizing NVIDIA's RTX Remix toolkit, and it's available as a modification.
This mod significantly upgrades textures and lighting, resulting in a noticeable visual improvement. Currently, only the first four levels have been updated; whether the project will be completed remains to be seen. The mod is 4.12 GB and requires a copy of Painkiller: Black Edition from Steam or GOG.
In other news, a new Painkiller game is in development. However, since its announcement in 2021, there have been no further updates. Remember, too, that an unofficial remaster of 2017's Prey recently launched.
