Rumor: Avengers: Doomsday Premiere May Be Delayed Due to Casting Issues

Marvel fans will have to wait for Avengers: Doomsday with Robert Downey Jr., according to insider Jeff Sneider. Presumably, the film's premiere will be postponed to another date, since the cast of the film has not yet been determined.
Avengers: Doomsday should fully introduce the new villain of the phase — Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. However, with the other characters, everything is not so clear: for example, it is still not specified who Chris Evans will play, and Benedict Cumberbatch cannot decide whether his Doctor Strange will appear in the film. The casting discrepancy was confirmed by insider Jeff Sneider in a recent podcast The Hot Mic:
I heard a rumor that Doomsday might be pushed. I think the release date could move to the next slot… They don’t know who’s in the movie—that’s what I heard.
Filming of the new Avengers is scheduled to begin this April in London, where a pavilion is already being built. The Russo Brothers have officially confirmed that they are simultaneously planning to film scenes for Avengers: Secret Wars, which will be released in 2027.
The premiere of Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for May 1, 2026.
Captain America: Brave New World recently hit the big screens. The film turned out to be frankly weak — we listed the reasons in our latest review.
