Netflix Announces a Full-Fledged Series About Scooby-Doo and Friends — First Details Unveiled

Netflix has announced its first live-action series featuring Scooby-Doo and his friends. The plot centers on the early adventures of the team as Shaggy and Daphne investigate a mystical murder linked to a lost puppy.
The main characters include Shaggy, Daphne, Velma, Fred, and, of course, Scooby-Doo himself. The showrunners are Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Andre Nemec, and Jeff Pinkner.
"In this modern reimagining, old friends Shaggy and Daphne team up at summer camp with scientific townie Velma and the strange but handsome Fred to solve the mystery of a lonely lost Great Dane puppy — who may have witnessed a supernatural murder," reads the official description.
The series is part of Berlanti Productions' agreement with Warner Bros. Television.
We're thrilled to collaborate with our longstanding partners at Berlanti Productions and with Midnight Radio to bring the legendary Scooby-Doo franchise to a live-action series for the first time. It’s no mystery why audiences continue to love these iconic characters after more than a half century. We’re excited for a new generation to discover Mystery Inc. And we’re grateful to our partners at Netflix for the opportunity.
The exact premiere date is yet to be announced. As a reminder, in 2023, an animated series spin-off, Velma, was released, which received extremely low ratings from viewers and was eventually canceled.
