Anime Artist is a casual puzzle game about creating and collecting anime-style artwork. The player sketches images and then colors them, choosing the right shades and applying them to the correct areas before time runs out.

A stage unlocks once enough of its image has been drawn and colored. Artwork varies in difficulty, and each result is rated on a three-star scale; two forms of assistance are available during a stage. Completed pictures fill the gallery and collection.
