Approaching Infinity is a turn-based space RPG roguelike about exploring a procedurally generated galaxy, where the crew can investigate what happened to a human colony. That quest is optional: the game is a cosmic sandbox in which players can follow faction storylines or set their own goals and course.
Players upgrade their ship, develop their crew and face tactical turn-based battles or resolve conflicts through diplomacy. They can survey planets, mine resources, trade, craft items, take on quests and seek artifacts. Characters can be created from several classes with different skills, and additional officers can join the crew. Adventure mode makes death less of a setback, while exploration and crew progression can continue without a final objective.
