Asphyxia is a visual novel about Samantha Coleridge, who is struggling with depression after a falling-out with her best friend, Lillian Wordsworth. A school trip to the Lake District gives Samantha a chance to spend time with Lillian again and try to repair their relationship.
The characters are based on Romantic poets, including Coleridge, Wordsworth, and Byron, as well as Alexander Pope. The story unfolds through several choices and has four endings, exploring the reasons behind the broken friendship and Samantha’s doubts about whether she was to blame.
