Astrosmash is a futuristic arcade shooter about defending the ground from falling meteors, bombs, and other targets. The player moves a laser cannon left and right and shoots the incoming objects, which move faster as the game progresses. Targets include guided missiles and UFOs, while levels vary in their object sets and backgrounds.

The updated version features ten levels, a single-player mode, co-op, and competitive multiplayer for up to four players, locally or online. The cannon can fire single shots or switch to automatic fire, and a hyperspace jump moves it to a random location. The original 1981 version of Astrosmash is also available.
