Avernum 5 is a fantasy role-playing game set in a vast underground nation, where rogues, outcasts, and brigands struggle to survive and prosper among monsters. It is the second chapter in the Great Trials Trilogy, which follows the land’s struggles against forces threatening its existence. The story involves betrayal, mysteries, and unexpected turns.
Players explore a sprawling world, complete hundreds of quests, and venture into side dungeons. Turn-based battles pit them against clever enemies, while scripted encounters advance the adventure. More than 50 spells and battle disciplines are available, and magical items can be found throughout the world; materials can also be used to craft equipment.
