Babel Rising is a whimsical adaptation of the biblical context. During the construction of the city of Babylon, the people build a tower designed to reach the sky and display such arrogance that they supposedly irritate the Player God. The story takes place in an imaginary Babylon and uses various monuments and sites associated with that civilization. The game doesn't take itself seriously and therefore ignores historical facts. Thus, workers can build the Tower of Babel, the Ishtar Gate, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, as well as more fanciful buildings such as a giant statue.
