BAKERU is an action-adventure set in a fairy-tale version of Japan, where modern life meets the world of historical dramas. Oracle Saitaro and his Festival Troops plan to take over the country through a bizarre festival, and the tanuki Bakeru travels across 47 Japanese prefectures to free them from evil spirits.
The game is divided into more than 50 stages filled with enemies and traps. Bakeru fights with a drum, a Tanuki Clan treasure said to purify evil spirits. Henge Licenses let him transform into the figures who granted them, including Kintaro and Momotaro, and use their skills and abilities.
