A tactical role-playing game set in a fantasy world, where Prince Aragon gathers heroes to free a land seized by Lord Bane. Aragon’s mother, the queen, is under a spell and believes that the prince and his allies are rebels.
Combat takes place in turn-based battles on grid-based fields. The party moves, attacks, defends, casts spells, and uses items before control passes to the enemy. Victory does not always require defeating every opponent: objectives can include reaching a destination or avoiding combat altogether. Aragon assembles a team of 12 heroes, with recruitment following a nonlinear order that affects how the story unfolds. Each character has specific combat techniques, and practice determines which new skills become available.
