This role-playing game follows Crono, a young hero who sets out to save the planet’s future after his companion Marle vanishes through a rift in space and time. The search takes Crono and his allies across prehistory, the Middle Ages, the present, the future, and even to the End of Time.

Battles use an active-time system: commands become available when a character’s gauge fills, while enemies move as time passes. The party can use abilities and magic, then combine them into coordinated attacks involving two or three characters. The journey also includes the mysterious Dimensional Vortex and the forgotten Lost Sanctum.
