A real-time tactical strategy game about the Allied campaign in Europe during World War II. In Crusade in Europe, the player commands troops, positions and moves units across a battlefield map, and responds to changing conditions while trying to outmaneuver the enemy. The simulation allows either side to be chosen, with several difficulty levels.
Five scenarios cover events from the Normandy landings to the Battle of the Bulge, recreating tactical decisions faced by military commanders. Scenario variables let players alter conditions and explore alternative outcomes. The game includes a single-player campaign and a two-player head-to-head mode, and was the first tactical wargame in MicroProse’s Command Series.
