Darkside is an arcade space shooter set among large asteroids, where a spacecraft battles hostile aliens and protects remote mining colonies. The player circles the asteroids, fighting enemies and blasting chunks of rock that threaten the colonies. The asteroids’ dark sides can be nearly pitch-black, so the ship’s headlights help with navigation.
Levels feature fast-paced encounters, while power-ups expand the ship’s capabilities. Alongside arcade play, the game includes Missions and Survival modes, and its dual-stick controls can be configured.
