Earth Defense Force 2017 — in 2013, scientists detect radio waves from deep space, proving to people the existence of alien life. In 2015, in case the aliens turn out to be hostile, the Earth Defense Force, a single multinational military organization sponsored by almost all countries, will be created. Two years later, first contact occurs as hundreds of UFOs hover over major cities around the world, led by a huge mother ship located above Tokyo, Japan. As the EDF mobilizes, giant acid-spitting ant-like insects begin to appear and attack civilians.
