A real-time strategy game with a science-fiction setting, Galaxy Trek follows the player as they explore the galaxy and battle enemy ships. Combat uses phasers and torpedoes, while the galaxy map helps track nearby enemies and travel between sectors. Sectors may contain anomalies, or lead into the unknown.
Keeping the ship’s hull intact is essential for its operation. Starbases are not required for victory, but they can repair the hull. The game offers seven difficulty levels, which do not change the strength of enemies or the player’s ship, so tactics learned at lower difficulties remain useful at higher ones. Each playthrough is different.
