This science-fiction role-playing game blends strategy and adventure in the abandoned city of Gorky 17, where a laboratory complex is found on the grounds of a former Soviet secret base. After hordes of deformed creatures appear in the area, NATO sends a team of three specialists led by Canadian Cole Sullivan to investigate what happened.

The player explores the city, interacts with its inhabitants, develops the characters and fights in tactical combat. Dialogue scenes offer choices that can affect what follows. The story features science-fiction intrigue and betrayal.
