An expansion for Gratuitous Space Battles focused on galactic conquest and managing an interstellar campaign. The player moves fleets between systems through hyperspace wormholes and fights for planets, taking their loyalty and threat levels into account. Spatial anomalies can make some battles more difficult or restrict the available ship choices.
After battles, ships can be repaired or scrapped to recover their crews and part of their construction cost; victory also allows enemy ships to be captured. Shipyards build ships, factories generate cash, and academies produce crew. The campaign offers three difficulty settings and the option to face fleets designed by other players, while a fleet-wide retreat order can be issued during battle.
