This first-person horror adventure traps its protagonist in a living dungeon and sets the goal of finding a way out while the Darkness pursues them. Its corridors and caves contain clues about the dungeon and the Darkness, while traps, shifting surroundings and misleading sounds make it harder to navigate.
The player explores the floors, gathers tools and searches for sources of light to hold the Darkness back. Secrets and special rooms are hidden throughout the dungeon, which changes after each failed escape attempt. I Can't Escape: Darkness expands on the idea of I Can't Escape, emphasizing isolation and disorientation.
