Krinkle Krusher is an action strategy game about defending a castle from hungry creatures called Krinkles, who return after generations of peace. Their arrival coincides with the Ancient Tree bearing fruit for the first time in centuries; a cake made from the harvest draws the creatures to the kingdom.

The player protects the castle by casting elemental spells, including a wall of fire, an ice crown, mud, an energy mine, thunder, and a tornado. Six spells become available as the game progresses, and can be upgraded and combined to counter different Krinkle types and bosses. Battles take place in varied environments that affect the strategy.
