This overhead arcade action game takes place in cities struck by a mysterious purple beam that turns those it touches into giant zombies. The player must lead the remaining survivors through infected streets to an Escape Zone before time runs out. Stages use aerial photographs of real cities, while thermographic vision helps reveal people hiding inside buildings.
As the player moves through each stage, they avoid zombies and bosses with abilities such as a dash and a whistle that gathers survivors into a group. Five types of power-ups include stamina boosts, temporary invisibility, the ability to freeze time, and a return to the Escape Zone. Completing stages unlocks extra levels designed for high-score runs.
