MLB 2006 is a baseball simulation featuring fluid transitions in fielding, base running, and slides. Its pitching and fielding interfaces take both player attributes and user skill into account: the Fielding Zone Marker helps determine whether a play can be made, while Pitcher Confidence affects the ability to place pitches in the strike zone.
Franchise Mode adds a morale system that tracks players’ morale and applies it to their day-to-day performance. In Career Mode, the player controls a single baseball player from the start to the end of a career, with progress shaped by on-field performance.
