Penumbear is a platformer about a bear cub trying to escape a dark castle. His firefly companion can switch lights on and off, while Penumbear can walk along the boundary between light and shadow.
Across more than 100 levels, the player explores the basement, dungeon, cavern, fireplace and tower, overcoming traps, solving puzzles and fighting monsters and bosses. Other bears, secret levels, warp zones and special Golden bears are hidden throughout the castle, rewarding exploration and giving Penumbear others to rescue.
