This arcade twin-stick shooter combines action with puzzle solving as the player searches for missing scientists on Apoxus Prime and investigates a failed research expedition. Progress depends on studying and manipulating the environment: blasting through rock, moving large blocks of ice and detonating explosive gas, or turning flows of water, lava, magnetic oil and corrosive stomach acid against enemies.

The campaign brings together PixelJunk Shooter and Shooter 2 across 150 levels and can be played solo or in local co-op. Online Battle pits players against one another. The game also features both the classic Shooter art style and the redesigned Ultimate style, while Photo Mode lets players capture moments from the game.
