This role-playing game with a third-person perspective and isometric view follows a Pokémon Ranger protecting nature and Pokémon in the Fiore region. Rather than using Poké Balls, the player captures Pokémon by circling them with the Nintendo DS stylus and the Capture Styler.
Captured Pokémon help clear obstacles and capture others before being released back into the wild. Completing official missions across the region advances the hero through the Pokémon Ranger ranks, and more than 200 Pokémon can be encountered and captured.
