Project Songbird is a first-person psychological horror game about Dakota, a musician who retreats to a cabin in a remote Appalachian forest to record a new album while struggling with writer’s block. The story unfolds through exploration of natural surroundings and haunting dreamscapes as Dakota tries to survive a nightmarish ordeal.
Combat includes ranged and melee weapons, which can be upgraded to help fend off threats. A permadeath system raises the stakes of encounters. The dynamic soundtrack was composed and performed by members of the band Auric Echoes.
