This arcade boxing game brings the Punch-Out!! series back to the ring, with Little Mac facing opponents from earlier entries, including Glass Joe and King Hippo. The fights are presented in cel-shaded 3D, with comic animations and character backstories that carry on the series’ humorous style.
Players punch, dodge, and use jabs and hooks. Wii motion controls simulate punches: the Nunchuk throws a left punch, while the Wii Remote throws a right; stick movement can also be combined with motion controls to direct punches. A Star Punch deals more damage to an opponent in a single hit. The game also offers controls modeled on the original NES version, using the Wii Remote buttons and directional pad.
