A multiplayer role-playing game with roguelike elements, set in a galaxy threatened by the Destroyer, an ancient creature that devours the Aether at the cores of planets. Players take the role of a Galactic Cadet and travel with a Combat Squad to hostile worlds in search of resources before the creature reaches another planet.
Procedurally generated worlds are home to exotic creatures and hostile monsters. Droids gather resources and can also assist in combat; collected loot is used to craft emblems and gear. Death costs a character the weapons, armor, and loot carried in their inventory, while supplies stored on the ship persist. Further runs unlock new races, character variants, augments, and starting uniforms, and ship upgrades remain available to subsequent characters.
