This strategy game combines simulation, RPG elements, trading, and business management in the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Wessex during the Dark Ages. The player guides a family’s life and works to secure its survival and prosperity, making choices in a world where characters pursue lives of their own.
A character can take up different roles, such as trader, business owner, labourer, or hunter. Activities include trading between markets, running enterprises, gathering resources, investing in property, and starting a family to establish a dynasty. The player can also develop settlements and face Viking raids.
