Scorchlands is a strategic city-building game about colonizing Helia, a volcanic moon where the birdfolk of Giwi venture as explorers, inventors, and pioneers. The player places buildings on a hex grid, establishes settlements, and reshapes the environment to reveal resources and opportunities for growth.

Colonies are connected by a supply network: materials must be moved between settlements, production and demand balanced, and production chains developed. Research unlocks new tools, while encounters with creatures on the moon call for careful positioning and expansion; combat does not require constant unit management.
