This role-playing game is set in a fantasy world where an invading imperial army threatens the home of Mage and Melanie, Availia. Forced to flee, the two heroes recruit allies and fight to protect their homeland and eventually the wider world; the story covers the first three chapters of the Selatria saga.
Players explore the world and its dungeons, solve puzzles, take on challenges, and fight enemies in turn-based battles. The Team Attack Battle System lets party members chain extra attacks from certain special abilities. Rather than resting at inns, the party accumulates Selatria while exploring and can spend it on the road. The game also features minigames and boss battles.
