A first-person adventure about police officer Alex Carter, who wakes in an unfamiliar place after an accident and tries to piece together what happened. He realizes he has been there before: it is where the blood of his first victim was spilled. The story begins in the small provincial town of Nightwood, where Alex has spent years protecting residents from crime.

Players explore narrow corridors and examine the environment, with nearly every object available for inspection, while fragments of Alex’s memories come back to him. The game features atmospheric locations and several endings.
