A turn-based tactical strategy game with RPG, survival, and resource-management elements, Shardpunk takes place in a steampunk world after the capital has fallen. The Capitol’s walls have been breached by a swarm of rats, forcing a group of survivors to flee through the city while trying to save people and equipment.
The player assembles a crew, explores grid-based levels for supplies, and fights enemies while seeking safety in bunkers. Characters have distinct abilities, equipment, perks, and shortcomings, while shelter stops call for difficult choices about how to distribute scarce resources. Weapons and technology need repairs and cooling, and scavenged materials can be used to unlock upgrades and craft equipment. Across three districts, enemies grow more dangerous as supplies dwindle.
