Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny is a weapon-based fighting game built around duels between characters wielding distinct weapons. Its single-player Gauntlet mode sends the cast on an adventure through a series of missions, introducing combat techniques and helping players improve their skills. Critical Finish moves also return, allowing a fighter to defeat an opponent with a single attack.
Character Creation lets players make original fighters or customize existing characters with a range of parts and options. The game also supports local wireless battles, and features Kratos from the God of War series as a guest character.
