This arcade puzzle fighter centers on match-three battles, in which opponents clear blocks and use magic to disrupt each other. Spaera offers eight characters, each with an individual story and four spells for attacking or defending. Players can take on the computer in a campaign or compete in local and online matches.
The board receives pieces made up of blocks in different colors and shapes. Matching three or more blocks of the same color clears them; other blocks on the active piece then cascade downward, creating opportunities for combos and chains. Clearing blocks and special block types fill a power meter, which allows spells to be cast. A match goes to the player who leaves the opponent with no room to place another piece.
