Steel Diver — in 2011, a “power-hungry rogue nation” invaded several neighboring countries. To combat this threat, a secret organization known as the "Steel Divers" was created from the navies of various countries. The Steel Divers travel to various locations, including the Arctic and the jungle, and are eventually tasked with destroying an enemy stronghold. In the final mission of the original Steel Diver, the game's final boss was a Giant Z-Class Submarine. The front of this submarine's hull is equipped with spikes, although this is likely intended to intimidate enemies as it has no mechanical purpose in the game.
