This first-person shooter takes place in Chernozersk-12, a city under quarantine after a virus turns its inhabitants into bloodthirsty mutants. A special forces unit seeks to uncover the truth behind experiments to create the perfect soldier, which spiralled out of control four years earlier.
Across two campaigns, the player takes the role of a regular special forces soldier and an infected super-soldier with abilities beyond human limits. The game can be played solo or in squad mode: the protagonist can use special powers or give orders to companions. Combat also involves weapons, destructible objects that can be used as improvised weapons, and vehicles for travelling through the city and transporting the group.
