This interactive literary adaptation of John Buchan’s novel is set in London in 1914. Richard Hannay is framed for a murder he did not commit and must flee the capital, stay alive and solve the riddle of the Thirty-Nine Steps.
The player explores locations, uncovers secrets and collects items. The story combines the novel’s text with visual scenes and several storytelling mechanics, set against hand-painted digital environments and materials drawn from 1910s Britain. The narrative is accompanied by voice performances and an original soundtrack.
