The Red Stare is a spy game set in 1950s New York, where a special agent watches the neighbours to identify a communist spy. The suspects live nearby, and their everyday activities provide clues for the investigation.
From an apartment, the player observes their movements, receives information by phone and fax, examines case files, and takes photographs to send to a handler. Suspicions can be tested by comparing the neighbours’ appearances, the objects in their rooms, and the rules followed by members of the communist ranks.
