Windward

Windward is an action sandbox about sailing a ship through a procedurally generated world shaped by growing towns, trade, and conflict. Each voyage unfolds differently: dangers and rewards increase farther from the starting point, while pirates prowl uncharted waters. The game supports solo and cooperative play, with players able to expand their influence together and build a faction.

Players explore the open sea, fight pirates, trade with towns, and take on quests. Towns grow when supplied with the goods they need, unlocking upgrades and more powerful ships. Vessel choice affects play: fast schooners are suited to exploration, while ships of the line are built for battle. Reputation influences AI behavior: some opponents may challenge the player, while friendly characters can join and provide assistance.
