Recently, the studio ZA/UM, known for Disco Elysium, presented a teaser for its new game codenamed Project C4. Now the developers have revealed some details of the game — for example, the main character is somewhat reminiscent of Klaasje.

In an interview with PC Gamer, screenwriter Siim Sinamäe and Ruudu Ulas not only talked about the gameplay, but also showed ready-made footage. Apparently, of the "spiritual successors of Disco Elysium", Project C4 is the closest to release. Below are the most important and interesting details:

  • the game is very similar to Disco Elysium in the style of locations and characters, as well as gameplay;
  • skills will again "talk" to the main character, they will be made more understandable;
  • the player will be allowed to add bonuses to skill checks like in Dungeons & Dragons;
  • the Thought Cabinet will allow not to assimilate new ideas, but to suppress or accept the necessary ones for the sake of mutually exclusive enhancements;
  • the voice acting of the character's thoughts and actions will return;
  • the main character can receive a penalty for a decision that contradicts his beliefs;
  • the events of Project C4 take place in the setting of an alternative 20th century, and the locations are reminiscent of Martinez;
  • the player's character is a decommissioned spy reminiscent of Klaasje, who was brought back into service for a mission;
  • in the equipment screen, the character is presented as a detailed paper doll in the style of concept art.

Project C4 does not have a release date yet. Let us remind you that almost all the developers of Disco Elysium left the ZA/UM studio over the past three years. The former employees have now formed three teams, one of which recently shared a first look at gameplay for Hopetown, another game in the vein of Disco Elysium.
