A real-time strategy game about the struggle for influence in the ancient world, where Sparta, Persia and Egypt vie for power between 700 and 300 BC. The campaigns let players lead each of the three nations, with an emphasis on large-scale battles and tactical manoeuvres.

Players command armies and develop cities, which can, for example, be turned into fortresses. Workers gather resources, while warriors can be equipped with weapons and shields, granted special abilities, and mounted on horses or chariots. Weapons abandoned after battles can be collected, and arms from other cultures can be brought in; fire and other natural forces affect the surrounding environment.
