This real-time fantasy RPG follows a hero cursed by the god Din to spend a second life serving others; redemption depends on helping the inhabitants of towns. In single-player or co-op, the player explores dungeons, fights monsters, avoids traps, and takes on quests ranging from curing plagues to quelling uprisings and uncovering conspiracies.
The world features an infinite number of dynamically generated towns, each with its own problems, inhabitants, monsters, items, and quests. The player's decisions affect events: threats can escalate, townspeople can revolt, and spies or traitors can set ambushes. Adventures offer 141 class combinations built from six classes and 18 specialties.
