Final Fantasy XIII-2 is a role-playing game and direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, with Lightning returning as the lead protagonist. The player explores locations that change depending on when they are visited: scenery, weather, flora and fauna shift over time, while choices affect the adventure and the flow of time and space.
Combat features dynamic cinematic sequences and a battle clock that can reward or punish the player’s actions. Monsters found throughout the world can be recruited into the party and incorporated into battle strategies, with each creature possessing its own special abilities. Branching locations offer secrets to uncover and help reveal the story.
