This historical strategy game is set in Japan in 1542, after the fall of the shogunate left the country divided among daimyo vying for power. Players combine political maneuvering, economic management, and strategic planning with battlefield tactics. The campaign blends turn-based grand strategy with real-time battles.
The collection contains the base game and the Mongol Invasion expansion, which explores an alternate Mongol invasion of Japan. Its campaign lets players lead the Mongols or defend the islands as the Japanese Hojo clan. The expansion also adds a playable faction, new units, campaign and multiplayer modes, and a map editor.
